U.S. Programs > Advocacy

Before and after September 11th, Afghan Coalition has been a voice for the Afghan community, and became a "go to" organization for the local and international media on issues surrounding Afghan culture, government, history, religion and other issues. Our representives have participated in scores of radio, print and televised interviews and articles. We have acted as an advocate for Afghans with local schools, agencies, and institutions, and as an organizer of local Afghan Americans to help them contribute their skills and resources to a post-Taliban Afghanistan.

Afghan Coalition recently received funding from Tide Foundation to strengthen the ability of the Afghan community to advocate on its own behalf by providing leadership development, educational and civic participation, community advocacy, consultation and advice to other organizations, dialogue building activities.
